More stupid neighbor crap. Guy across the street has had his buddy park in front of my fence for the last two weeks. I am not going to make a fuss over that. He stays far enough from my frustratingly narrow driveway that I consider his parking almost courteous. BUT he parks too close to the mailboxes and then our mailman won’t deliver our mail (4 boxes for 4 homes on my side of the street are all on one post). I have talked to this neighbor many many times about all of his friends’ shitty parking, but admittedly the last year has been pretty good. It was nice while it lasted.
I had already convinced my wife to let go of the inconvenience of a stranger’s car crowding our entrance (I can handle only so many unpleasant confrontations before the rest of my hair falls out), but that was before I noticed my mail wasn’t coming. I talked to my other neighbor (no, not the “You got four cars now” guy) and she hasn’t been getting hers either. Turns out she thought the car in question was a friend of mine , so she had no plans of saying anything to me.
When I buy my next home... It is going to have the WORLD’S WIDEST AND LONGEST DRIVEWAY, so that street parkers will be miles away from my eyesight, and my house will be sooooooooooooooooo far back from the street that I won’t have to respond to anyone “just noticing” my number of legally owned and legally parked vehicles.
.... Oh, um... Paseo convertible.

Some neighbours can be a-holes and even when it’s not them, it’s their guests.
If the guy’s car is obstructing the mail boxes can the USMail or police not move the car on as it’s obstructing the U.S Postal Service from carrying out their duties?

Manuals for sale don’t seem all that rare, but I’ve yet to see one near me. One of these days I want to pick up some weird 90's convertible crossover thingamajig with manual just for the pure weirdness of it. Contenders are a RAV4, X-90, Tracker, Amigo and first gen Freelander (not sure if manual/convertible was an option). Of all these, I’d really prefer the Toyota. You can drone on about Toyota build quality and reliability but to me it’s just one of the weirdest Toyotas ever which makes it cool. Yes X90's are rare and weird, but all Suzukis sold in the US weird a little weird. The RAV4 convertible is even weirder than a Paseo convertible or Murano CC and I want one badly.

I like the Freelander. I’d just like someone else to own and maintain it for me.

I dunno what they *can* do, to be honest. I know what they usually do though: either yell at someone mowing their lawn, “IS THIS YOUR CAR?” or in this case, refusing to deliver mail.

If what they keep saying on TV is true. Isn’t hindering a Post Office worker in their day to day activities an offence. The mail man not being able to deliver letters as the post box is obstructed would surely be hindering the duties of the post service.
Also if the mail man can’t put it in the mail box, they take the letter away undelivered?
Also, after a few days won’t a post master come out to find out why they can’t deliver the mail?

!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!
Current through Pub. L. 114-38 . (See Public Laws for the current Congress .)
US Code Notes Authorities (CFR)
Whoever knowingly and willfully obstructs or retards the passage of the mail, or any carrier or conveyance carrying the mail, shall be fined under this title or imprisoned not more than six months, or both.
(June 25, 1948, ch. 645, 62 Stat. 778 ; Pub. L. 103–322, title XXXIII , §330016(1)(B), Sept. 13, 1994, 108 Stat. 2146 .)“
Not sure how it would apply exactly. But obstructing the mailbox is hindering the post office worker from carrying out his duties.

I always liked the early Freelanders.
Then I saw a Freelander M-Sport Rally Reconnaissance Car.

I finally just left a note on a persons car that’s been parking in my GF’s lot. There are a few open stalls which visitors are allowed to use. Management has asked all the tenants if they know the person which no one does so they’re parked illegally. Usually in two stalls.
Some people are just generally clueless.(It’s just a username...)

Have you thought about widening your driveway? Not just a little - widen it enough to park another vehicle in front of the house. You wouldn’t even have to pave the whole thing. Just get a permit for the additional curb cut, pour a new ramp, then install porous pavers or grasspave. You keep most of your lawn, gain an extra parking space, and decrease the area where people can legally park in front of your house.

“Neither snow nor rain nor heat nor gloom of night stays these couriers from the swift completion of their appointed rounds...unless there’s a car parked near their mailboxes, then you ain’t getting shit.” - 2016 Letter Carrier’s Creed.

Yeah fuck that. Obstructing a mail box is against the law. Tell your neighbor one more time and his friends rides start getting towed.

Currently living in Wisconsin where street parking is prohibited overnight most of the year. This forces home builders to have plenty of off street parking, greatly reducing this neighbor issue. But when I lived in Ohio I could sympathize.

Could you plant some bushes or something to deter people from parking in that area?
Or, as others have mentioned, speak to the post office. Maybe they can come out and designate the area a no parking zone? Or check your local laws and regulations on street parking. You might be able to have the city fix this for you.
